The 2006 Alfa Romeo Brera: A Super Machine underneath its Sporty Elegance
In the 2004 Geneva, the Alfa Romeo Brera Concept, which was designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro, built by Pininfarina and manufactured by Alfa Romeo, became such a hit that after three years, it was developed as a real fast car production.
Derived from the 1990’s Spyder and GTV, Alfa Romeo takes pride in rejuvenating its image as a builder of sophisticated, high-performance, elegantly designed, super fast cars.
Similar to the Brera Concept car, the 2006 Brera new fast car is presented with a unique exterior style including its steel-eyed inset, large glass roof, protruding nose, fashionable 3-beamy headlights, a distinctive pentagon rear window and its pointed hood.
On the other hand, a number of improvements have also been made – including the expansion of its height and length, upgrade of three different engines and a downgrade from its scissor-style doors to the standard fast sports car door.
The 2006 Brera hot fast car is equipped with a 2.2-liter, 185 horsepower inline-4 engine with JTS (Direct-Injection). However, those preferring super fast cars, an optional 3.2L, 260-horsepower V6 engine (developed by General Motors and Fiat) can also be purchased.
This Brera fast cool car can produce up to a 260 horsepower at 6300 rpm and 237 lbs-ft of torque at 4500, with a 4500-rpm redline that can boost up to a top speed of 155 mph.
An impressive feature of these fast new cars is that the turbo diesel V6 can let you save fuel economy, while handling a high-performance sports car. Since diesels have never been compatible with fast sports cars, the integration of this concept from manufacturers such as BMW and Benz, and now the Alfa Romeo, can make Brera the fastest Alfa ever produced.
For years, many Alfa Romeo super fast cars encounter some problems with the chassis. However, with the 2006 Brera with a V6 Q4 version, every performance characteristics are lifted to a significantly higher level.
With the dramatic designs of Giorgetto Giugiaro and high-quality production by Alfa Romeo, the 2006 Brera new fast cars offers crisp handling with superb riding, great-sounding TurboDiesel V6 engines and stylish cabins and impressive panoramic glass roof.
Although since the early ‘90s, Alfa has not been present in the U.S. market, it is rumored that the coming 2007 will give way to its comeback. Watch out for announcements in the months to come.
