Since the 1950s Giulietta, Duetto and 1990s Spider, the Alfa Romeo convertible sports car (Alfa-talk “Spider”) plays a large role in the manufacturer’s tradition in keeping its character alive.

For 2006, Alfa Romeo presents the Spider fast car that guarantees to perform beyond as expected with a Spider – dramatic styles, powerful performance, elastic engines, comfortable driving and handling, up-to-date technology and made with high-quality materials.

The new Alfa Spider super fast car, developed by Pininfarina and styled by Alfa Romeo, retains its brand traditions, Italian sophistication and high-class motoring. With these unique characteristics, it comes no shock that at its world debut at the Geneva Motor Show, the Alfa Spider supercar automobile has been awarded the “2006 Cabrio of the Year”.

Judged by the Cabriolet Committee, comprising of 23 automobile journalists from 12 countries, the 2006 Alfa Spider passed the two vital contest conditions – a debutant at the Motor Show and should not have a tag price of more than 60,000 Swiss Francs.

The Alfa Spider is a 2-seater fast sports car characterized by elongated rear lights and four impressive exhaust terminals that emphasizes the impact of a great disposition.

A hot fast car in the market, the interior of the Spider provides a comfortable driving pleasure due to its high-quality materials.

The Alfa Spider fast cars come with standard steering wheel-mounted radio controls, dual-zone climate control system and VDC cruise controls.

Speaking of the monstrous engine of the Spider fast cool cars, the client are provided with two choices – 185 HP 2.2-liter JTS engine or the more aggressive 260 HP 3.2-liter JTS. Both of these engines are equipped with a 6-speed manual gearbox that can accelerate from zero to 60 mph in 6.3 seconds or less and can rocket up to a top speed of 150 mph or more (depending on which engine the super fast car is used).

The 2006 Alfa Spider fast cars guarantee superb dynamic performance by integrating a Multilink at the rear and a double wishbone suspension at the front.

A noteworthy feature of the Spider and all 3.2 Alfa Romeo fast car versions is the innovative Q4 four-wheel drive. In fact, it has been awarded with five prominent Euro NCAP stars due to all the safety features and electronic vehicle dynamic control systems, from braking to traction, which the Spider possesses.

With the top down, the Spider’s elegant leather exterior and metallic roll bars is definitely a fast car head turner in any driving situation.

In the 2004 Geneva, the Alfa Romeo Brera Concept, which was designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro, built by Pininfarina and manufactured by Alfa Romeo, became such a hit that after three years, it was developed as a real fast car production.

Derived from the 1990’s Spyder and GTV, Alfa Romeo takes pride in rejuvenating its image as a builder of sophisticated, high-performance, elegantly designed, super fast cars.

Similar to the Brera Concept car, the 2006 Brera new fast car is presented with a unique exterior style including its steel-eyed inset, large glass roof, protruding nose, fashionable 3-beamy headlights, a distinctive pentagon rear window and its pointed hood.

On the other hand, a number of improvements have also been made – including the expansion of its height and length, upgrade of three different engines and a downgrade from its scissor-style doors to the standard fast sports car door.

The 2006 Brera hot fast car is equipped with a 2.2-liter, 185 horsepower inline-4 engine with JTS (Direct-Injection). However, those preferring super fast cars, an optional 3.2L, 260-horsepower V6 engine (developed by General Motors and Fiat) can also be purchased.

This Brera fast cool car can produce up to a 260 horsepower at 6300 rpm and 237 lbs-ft of torque at 4500, with a 4500-rpm redline that can boost up to a top speed of 155 mph.

An impressive feature of these fast new cars is that the turbo diesel V6 can let you save fuel economy, while handling a high-performance sports car. Â Since diesels have never been compatible with fast sports cars, the integration of this concept from manufacturers such as BMW and Benz, and now the Alfa Romeo, can make Brera the fastest Alfa ever produced.

For years, many Alfa Romeo super fast cars encounter some problems with the chassis. However, with the 2006 Brera with a V6 Q4 version, every performance characteristics are lifted to a significantly higher level.

With the dramatic designs of Giorgetto Giugiaro and high-quality production by Alfa Romeo, the 2006 Brera new fast cars offers crisp handling with superb riding, great-sounding TurboDiesel V6 engines and stylish cabins and impressive panoramic glass roof.

Although since the early ‘90s, Alfa has not been present in the U.S. market, it is rumored that the coming 2007 will give way to its comeback. Watch out for announcements in the months to come.
