Not to be confused with the super fast cars Elise or Exige, which are both allocated as Lotus Type Number 111, the 2006 Lotus S Europa is dubbed with a 121 Lotus type number.

The 2-seater fast sports car is an improved version of the first Lotus 1960s mid-engined Grand Tourer (GT). With the classic feel, the Lotus Europa S 121 will offer most of the handling capabilities of the Elise or Exige – but with a more practical package.

This hot fast car will include a more spacious trunk, a larger cabin, expanded doors and lowered doorsills to allow for an easier entry and exit.

Inside the Europa S Type 121, this fast cool car will be presented with fully leather-trimmed seats, full high-quality carpeting and occupant airbags for both the driver and passengers.

Although this fast car will be equipped with the same aluminum materials and technology used for its body and chassis in keeping the performance up by lowering the weight down, the Europa will be outfitted with an impressively unique chassis known as “Type 121” – a broader and more stretched chassis used in both the Elise and Exige.

The turbocharged mid-engine Inline-4 of this super fast car, which will be supplied by General Motors, can deliver high levels of performance – 201 horsepower at 5400 rpm and 194 ft-lbs at 4200 rpm. With this powerful engine, the Europa S type 121 can rocket from zero to 60 mph in 5.5 seconds while zero to 100 mph in 14 seconds flat.

With a phenomenal power to weight ratio of 201 horsepower per ton, this supercar automobile will be equipped with a six-speed manual gearbox that can reach a top speed of 140 mph.

Although rumored to be manufactured in Malaysia, the production of the Europe S Type 121 fast cars will be starting in July 2006 at the UK factory.  

Sorry to say, Lotus has not yet decided to sell these supercar automobile in the U.S. at this point.
