Opel has presented another innovative concept – the 4-wheel drive Antara GTC (Gran Turismo Crossover). Based from General Motor’s Theta, Opel Antara GTC proves just how sporty and dynamic an SUV can be. Replacing the Opel Frontera, the Antara GTC fast new cars were unveiled at the 2005 Frankfurt International Motor Show last September.

The Antara GTC super fast cars suggest adventure combined with a higher level of Opel’s design to fit for the SUV genre.

This muscular fast car is a futuristic vehicle with flashy interior, remarkable LED headlamps, panoramic glass roof and with the characteristics of a 3-door design.

With the new Opel fast cool cars, convenience and performance are given committed consideration. For example, the Antara new fast cars features a more accessible load compartment, the folding rear seats and the EasyEntry system, which is powered by a button enabling passengers to climb into the rear seats more easily.

Beneath the hood, the Antara GTC hot fast cars are powered by 1.9-liter Twin-turbocharged Inline-4 engine that can produce 212 horsepower and 294.9 ft-lbs of torque at 1400 rpm.

The two-staged, 4-cylinder, turbocharged diesel engine features four valves per cylinder, two overhead camshafts and variable turbo blade geometry.

With a new generation engine, this fast car can accelerate from zero to 60 mph in around 8 seconds and through a top speed of 130.5 mph.

The panoramic roof system (an idea borrowed from another new fast car – the Opel Zafira) is made up of two large skylights that give the occupants light and a pleasurable driving experience.

To protect the occupants from excessive light or sunshine, dark tinted glass comes as a standard feature as well as the roof console that extends over the entire length of the super fast car to provide extra stowing space.

This new fast car’s body color, called Everglade Mica, combines high segments of glowing pigments with bottom side-body strip underlining the rugged projection and dark bumpers to give contrast to the glimmering effects.

The Antara GTC hot fast cars are equipped with front and rear lights that consist of light-emitting diodes (materials that have longer life and a more direct response). The front lamps are slickly integrated into the fenders, while the rear lights highlight the transition from the rear to the side shoulder.

Standard features of the Opel GTC fast new cars include a mixture of high quality materials including aluminum and stainless steel for the cockpit, carbon fiber for the back seats and warm tones of leather upholstery.

For a concept car, the Opel Antara GTC fast cars were not a “wow”-material to the Frankfurt Motor Show. However, as a production car, this fast car is a shocker.

With the production of the Antara GTC as an addition to the Saturn lineup, Opel proves that each fast car they manufacture demonstrates fresh and dynamic design languages for different car classes.

The production of the 1960’s and 1970’s Opel GT fast cars was one of the most famous Opels imported to the North America due to its high quality performance and head-turning design. Over 100,000 Opel GT super fast cars were manufactured. An impressive 70,000 GT fast cars were sold in North America alone.

Last March 2006, General Motors prided itself in presenting its newest addition to its line of super fast cars. The 2007 GT was unveiled at the 2006 Geneva Motor Show.

In 2007, this legendary fast cool car will make a comeback in the form of a 2-seater roadster that is expected to shake the world of supercar automobile.

Derived from the original GT fast cars of the late 60s and early 70s, the 2007 GT new fast cars will be equipped with sharply cut lines, 4-cylinder turbo engine with gasoline direct injection and rear wheel drive.

The stylish fast new cars of GT will be powered by a 2-liter ECOTEC turbo engine with gasoline direct injection. The soul of the GT new fast cars is the most powerful engine in the ECOTEC history.

ECOTEC combined with direct inject technology helps in producing more power while maintaining low fuel consumption, improving engine response and resulting in ample torque even within low engine speeds.

It delivers 260 horsepower at 5300 rpm and 258 ft-lbs of torque at 2500 rpm. It is expected to accelerate the GT fast car from zero to 60 mph in less than 6 seconds, while enabling a top speed of over 143 mph.

Massive 18-inch wheels and pumped wheel arches will complement GT fast cars’ driving dynamics. It also helps in balancing weight distribution. The rear is also another head-turner due to its rear haunches that integrates wrap-around brake light clusters.

A new feature of this hot fast car is the electrically powered fabric roof that folds down to enjoy open-air driving.

With an impressively head-turning design, classic curves, powerful fuel-friendly engine, the 2007 GT fast cars are royalty that demands attention. Compared to the pricier Ferrari F430, the GT will be priced at €29,900. However, only a few lucky people will have the chance to own one since the production will be limited.

The 2007 GT super fast cars are expected to go in production in the first quarter of 2007.
