2006 Jaguar S-Type: Three Powerful Engines in a Classic Beauty

Launched in 1999, the retro-styled fast car of the ‘50s and ‘60s, the Jaguar S-Type is a less expensive and mid-sized version of the XJ Sedans. Since its debut, this luxuriously super fast car has been a favorite for its classy design, superb performance and interior comfort for six years.

However, in the mid-2005, the sales of this hot fast car have dropped 25 percent. For 2006, the new fast car Jaguar S-type has been completely redesigned to bring back the attention it undeniably deserves.

This long-awaited new fast car will feature a new architecture, for both interior and exterior to enhance handling performance. Key features of this fast new car include an upgraded braking system, new chrome grille, Sirius satellite radio, Bluetooth wireless technology and a redesigned 17-inch alloy Jaguar wheels.

The last S-Type models with Indigo and Winter Gold exterior color palettes are replaced by Pacific Blue and Topaz for the 2006 S-Type fast cars.

The new S-type can now be purchased with a state-of-the-art aluminum interior, rather than the conventional wood trim.

For the 2006 S-Type super fast cars, Jaguar offers three distinct engines – a 3-liter V-6, a 4.2-liter V-8 and the supercharged 4.2-liter V-8.

With different engines, the supercar automobile S-type can extend separate levels of performance. The S-Type 3-liter V6, with 24 DOHC valves, produces 235 horsepower at 6800 rpm and 216 lbs-ft of torque at 4100 rpm. The 4.2-liter V8 delivers 300 horsepower at 6000 rpm and 310 lbs-ft of torque at 4100 rpm. Last but not the least, the 4.2-liter supercharged V8 can boost 400 horsepower at 6100 rpm and 413 lbs-ft of torque at 3500 rpm.

The new fast cars of the S-Type models, which perform with a 6-speed automatic with overdrive transmission, can accelerate smoothly from zero to 60 mph in 6.2 seconds and zero to 100 mph in 13.7 seconds.

With a top speed of 155 mph, the braking system of this hot fast car can put the S-Type to a stop from a 60-0 foot distance of 119.

This 5-seater luxury car also offers modern safety features such as side-impact and curtain-type airbags, anti-lock braking system, emergency brake assist, Dynamic Stability Control and Adaptive Restraint Technology System.
